Had a lovely few days at the Reading moorings, near to
Blakes lock, in a little siding off the main K and A canal. It was a short walk into Reading to buy my
birthday pressy, and we had a meet up with Rob and Arno, who took us to Prezzo
for lunch, as a birthday treat.
Now we are on The Thames and heading towards Oxford
eventually. The mooring today is at Beale Park. And its lovely. A wild flower
meadow, filled with buzzing things, butterflies, damselflies etc,. We have also
been watching some buzzards flying overhead. One had a small rabbit in its
talons, and I was wondering if they were going to do a food pass, but alas, they
flew on up The Thames, and I wasn’t able to see.
Its nice to be off the K and A. It was a so-so canal. Bottom of the pile of
all the canals, so far. But there were parts of it that we really enjoyed.
However, Oxford Canal and the rest,. Here we come.
